Karting as a sport has evolved from a weekend pastime to a Nationally and Internationally organised competitive form of motorsport. Karts are the most inexpensive way to enjoy the thrills and excitement of motor racing in a safe and controlled environment.
It doesn't matter what age you are, or if you are male or female. you could be looking for family fun or serious competition. Karting provides a great day out for all.
Karting has been a part of motorsport for over 50 years.
It has spread to most countries and has become international. It can be an inexpensive hobby in which the whole family participates.
Many F1 Drivers developed their skills in karting. Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Ralf and Michael Schumacher all started their careers in karting.
Race meetings are run by clubs throughout NZ and are carried out on permanent sprint tracks, motor racing circuits or dirt ovals. Each permanent sprint track owned by an affiliated club has to be licenced and has to pass safety inspections.
