Kathryn Adams

 

 

Kathryn Adams (formerly Wilson) trained as a general and obstetric nurse at Rotorua Hospital in the early 1970s and taught in the hospital school of nursing from 1979 to 1985 when nursing education transferred to the tertiary education sector.  Appointed associate head of nursing at Waiariki Polytechnic in 1987 and then became senior nurse adviser at Rotorua Hospital in 1991.  In 1995, after completing her MA at Massey University in Palmerston North, was appointed Education Officer with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.  In 1998 commenced her PhD as a part-time student in the Nursing and Midwifery Department at Victoria University of Wellington.  PhD completed in December 2002.
