2004 is here!!
The Waipu Highland dancing on new years day,
this was good but oh so hot.One good item
was the seniors who dance for fun , not competively. Then
news years night we had a game
>
>Gail Martin joined me at Waipu and as
I was heading home on the 2nd and it was
her birthday on the 4th we went down to Waipu
village for bacon and eggs breakfast.I left
Waipu at 1pm.Traffic was heavy but well behaved
the lunatics must have stayed home.
>
>On the way up I diverted through highway
16 to avoid the holdups at orewa and Wellsford..
Needed fuel and as I am pig headed about
being served at Service station and if I
am not I just drive out, so thanks to Kaukopakopa
I filled up there after leaving 3 stations. If
the customer is not going to be served then
fuel should be cheaper for self service. Why
are they called service stations.

>4th Jan we were busy with a visit from
a group of travelling train enthusiasts to
our small gauge railway track. They came 2
30pm , rode the trains, drove visiting steamers,
cooled of with lots of drinks, Ate peas,
pies and spud for tea then of course pavlova
and hokey pokey ice cream and fruit salad
for desert.Headed away in their bus to the
nights accomodation around 8pm.They said
too full bye far but enjoyed thier visit
to us.
>
>Tuesday I took ratu over to Hamilton
ready for the train convention then back
to Thames to get the bus.Jan to be continued.
